The Comparison Of Digital Technology Use During And After Covid-19 Pandemic In Food And Beverage Sector
Abstract
The COVID-19 pandemic has made digital technology necessary, especially for small businesses in the food and beverage sector, who had to continue selling despite not being allowed to offer dine-in services due to government regulations in Indonesia. The use of digital technology was seen as a way for these businesses to survive during the pandemic. However, it is often the case that organizations only adopt digital technology as a response to a situation rather than out of a desire to innovate. This raises the question of whether digital technology will only be used as a temporary tool to help these businesses during the pandemic or if it will continue to be used after the pandemic is over.
The study uses a qualitative method with five samples of MSMEs, including Uncle Chen, Kopi Belakang, Karazza, Pecel Kediri, and Soto Madura. Data was collected through interviews, observations, and secondary data from the internet. The results show that digital technology, including E-Commerce, E-payment, Social Media, Digital Inventory System, and POS System, was effective in increasing sales during the pandemic and continues to be used by 80% of the businesses after the pandemic. The use of digital technology has helped MSMEs to record financial and inventory data. The study concludes that the use of digital technology has reached micro MSMEs, and some MSMEs continue to use digital technology after the pandemic, while others do not.
